Kate served as a community governor at BSCS for seven years and was elected as parent governor at Meadowbrook in 2015.  She has two children at the school.

Andy was elected as a Parent Governor in January 2017.  He is the Centre Manager of the Willowbrook Centre and his step-son previously attended Meadowbrook School prior to moving on to secondary school.

Rachel Howell – Community Governor & Vice-Chair of School Improvement Committee

Rachel was appointed as a Community Governor in September 2017.  She has worked within the NHS for over 35 years where her role as a clinical psychologist has not only included working with patients, but managing a small team within a huge institution.  She is also a qualified performance coach.

Rachel says: “I believe we owe it to our children to try to provide them with the very best chance to lead a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. A good primary school has an essential part to play in developing firm foundations which is what attracts me to a school like Meadowbrook.”

Jenny Thompson – Community Governor

Jenny was appointed as a Community Governor in September 2018.  She has been involved with the school for a number of years, as a parent to two children who were at Meadowbrook and have now moved on to secondary school.  Over their time in school, Jenny volunteered in school and was active in the Parents’ Forum.  Jenny hopes to put her experience of Meadowbrook to good use and continue to support the school in her role as Community Governor.

Jenny also works as a volunteer with the Woodcraft folk, a children’s organisation, which runs weekly groups and camping for young people, and this has given her practical experience of working with groups of children, as well as experience in other valuable areas such as safeguarding, risk assessing and planning trips.
